Hyper-Converged Infrastructure Deep Dive

Overall rating: 4.85 Instructor: 4.83 Materials: 4.76 more …

Over the past decade hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) has gone from science experiments for people who like to roll their own infrastructure, to become the fastest growing technology in the enterprise, outselling more traditional servers and storage converged infrastructure solutions like vBlocks and Flexpods. HCI’s grown so popular that vendors started stretching its definition as compute and storage as an integrated building block.

Will HCI turn out to be a fad, as software-defined storage adapts to the platforms of the day, will the data centers of the 2020s morph into the dystopian homogenous HCI monoculture so wished for by some HCI advocates, or will HCI, like blade servers, remain one of a range of generally accepted solutions?

You’ll get the answer to this long question (and many others) in this deep dive into the realities of HCI.
